The bonus of the MDF board makes this piece resistant to warping and cracking. It is clear-coated with Polycrylic for protection. The back is fitted with a French Cleat System for easy hanging.

Shedd Aquarium opened in 1930 and designed by the architectural firm Graham, Anderson, Probst & White.  It is a white marble and terra cotta neoclassical temple with two major additions beyond the original building.  It is decorated with various aquatic motifs throughout the marble inside and out. Shedd is home to a vast number of aquatic species.
