from $1,350.00

I only have 1 original available! This is a 22” W x 25” H poplar veneered MDF board with “Very Black” wood stain coloring. The bonus of the MDF board makes this piece resistant to warping and cracking. It is clear-coated with Polycrylic for protection. The back is fitted with a French Cleat System for easy hanging.

The Art Institute of Chicago opened this building in 1893 for the coming of the World's Columbian Exposition.  The building itself is a classical Beaux-Arts building by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge.  Flanking the entrance are two bronze lions by Edward Kemeys because guardian lions were an important architectural theme of the World Columian Exposition.  The lion on the south is standing in an attitude of defiance and the lion on the north is on the prowl.
