The bonus of the MDF board makes this piece resistant to warping and cracking. It is clear-coated with Polycrylic for protection. The back is fitted with a French Cleat System for easy hanging.
The Harold Washington Library Center opened in 1991. The design of the building was awarded to Thomas Beeby from Hammond, Beeby & Babka. This twentieth century building provides iconographic homage to Chicago's history and culture. The owls surrounding the top of the building are massive with the great horned owl measuring 20' H x 20' W! The Library Center serves as a local public library to the Chicago region.
